Dr. Pravinchandra Patel

Dr. Pravinchandra Patel has been a resident of Columbus, Georgia since 1987, though his early life spans multiple continents. Born in India, he moved with his family to Kenya at the age of two, where he completed his primary and secondary education in Nairobi. At sixteen, he relocated to London, UK, for higher secondary studies before returning to India to pursue medical education. He earned his MBBS degree from Kasturba Medical College.

Following medical school, Dr. Patel moved to the United States for residency training in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in Gastroenterology at East Tennessee State University College of Medicine. After completing his training, he settled in Columbus, Georgia, where he established a solo gastroenterology practice in 1987.

Over the past 35 years, Dr. Patel has provided comprehensive gastroenterology care to the West Georgia community. He founded Gastrointestinal Diseases Inc., where he serves as CEO. Under his leadership, the practice has expanded to include three physician partners and five advanced practitioners. Notably, in 1994, he became the first physician to start an outpatient endoscopy center in Columbus.

Dr. Patel is affiliated with the Piedmont Clinic and has served as Chairman of the Department of Medicine at the Medical Center. He is deeply committed to education, and he is board certified in internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. Additionally, he has served as president of the Georgia Association of Physicians of Indian Origin.
